ALPN's Aims

  • To promote a culture of collaboration, structural change and leadership across the Law education sector in Australia
  • To disseminate information about Australian Law Postgraduate Research
  • To encourage a national and international, research cultural amongst postgraduate research students and their supervisors

The ALPN demonstrates a new collaborative method for supervision of higher degree students by encouraging a community of practice across institutions within the specific discipline of Law. The approach creates a structure for the sharing of common resources, building of research networks, developing of communities of practice for HDR students and supervisors. The project also promotes cross-disciplinary bridges to extend legal research methodologies.
Managing Law HDR students in distributed locations also provides leadership in the affordances of anytime and anyplace flexibility enabled by using new technologies.

Support for this project has been provided by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council, an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training.
